Data Protection

We cannot guarantee the security of data transmission over the internet; in particular, there is a risk that third parties may gain access to data transmitted by email. On our ‘Contact’ page, you agree that your data may be used to process your enquiry. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Please send us a brief email and we will remove all email correspondence relating to that address from our mail server.

The use by third parties of the contact details published in the legal notice for advertising purposes is hereby expressly prohibited. The operator expressly reserves the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited advertising or information material being sent.

Should any individual provisions or formulations of this disclaimer be or become invalid, this shall not affect the content or validity of the remaining provisions.

DATA PROCESSING BY ZERMATT TOURISM AND BONFIRE AG.

The Hotel Bristol is authorised to pass on the guest’s personal data – in particular booking details (e.g. title, first name, surname, date of birth, nationality, language, email address, mobile phone number, postal address, number of guests, date of arrival, date of departure, number of nights’ accommodation and any exemption from tourist tax) – to Zermatt Tourism. This personal data is centrally recorded and stored by Zermatt Tourism (and/or by data processors acting on behalf of Zermatt Tourism). In this context, it is possible that information and/or newsletters may be sent directly to the guest by Zermatt Tourism and/or the Hotel Bristol. It is also possible that such information is sent on behalf of the Hotel Bristol, but is technically generated by Zermatt Tourism (and/or a data processor acting on behalf of Zermatt Tourism). This information consists in particular of so-called ‘pre-stay’ and ‘post-stay’ emails. Further information on the processing of your data by Zermatt Tourism or Bonfire AG can be found in Zermatt Tourism’s privacy policy: https://www.zermatt.ch/Media/Datenschutzerklaerung-Zermatt-Tourismus.

PRIVACY NOTICE: EMAIL MARKETING.

Your booking details will also be processed as follows:

Your booking details (e.g. title, first name, surname, date of birth, nationality, language, email address, mobile phone number, postal address, number of people, arrival date, departure date, number of nights’ accommodation and any exemption from tourist tax) will be passed on to Bonfire AG and Zermatt Tourism (either by us or via our electronic booking system).

Your booking details are recorded in a central database by Bonfire AG and/or Zermatt Tourism. If accommodation providers take part in Zermatt Tourism’s email marketing programme, guest data is also stored with the third-party provider ‘Salesforce’ and used within the context of the business relationship between the accommodation provider and the guest.

Your booking details will be processed exclusively in Switzerland and the EU.

On this basis, Zermatt Tourism calculates the tourist tax due and collects it from its service partners.

Zermatt Tourism also submits reports to the Federal Statistical Office.

Bonfire AG and Zermatt Tourism grant the police access to the database containing booking details so that the police can, for example, retrieve the relevant booking details in cases involving missing persons.

Zermatt Tourism uses the booking data to compile statistics (in particular regarding occupancy rates, length of stay, number of arrivals, etc.).

The legal basis for this data processing lies in the fulfilment of a legal obligation within the meaning of Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR (settlement and collection of tourist tax / reporting to the Federal Statistical Office) or in the pursuit of a legitimate interest within the meaning of Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR (granting access to the police / compiling statistics).

Your booking details will only be used for direct marketing purposes (e.g. sending newsletters) if you have given us your consent to do so.

Further information on the processing of your data by Zermatt Tourism or Bonfire AG can be found in Zermatt Tourism’s privacy policy: https://www.zermatt.swiss/Media/Datenschutzerklaerung-Zermatt-Tourismus.

PRIVACY POLICY FOR THE USE OF GOOGLE+

You can use the Google+ button to share information worldwide. The Google+ button allows you and other users to receive personalised content from Google and its partners. Google stores both the fact that you have clicked the ‘+’ button for a piece of content and information about the page you were viewing when you clicked the ‘+’ button. Your ‘+1’s may be displayed as recommendations alongside your profile name and photo in Google services, such as in search results or on your Google profile, or in other places on websites and in adverts across the internet. Google records information about your ‘+1’ activity to improve Google services for you and others. To use the Google+ button, you need a public Google profile that is visible worldwide and must include at least the name you have chosen for the profile. This name is used across all Google services. In some cases, this name may also replace another name you have used when sharing content via your Google account. The identity of your Google profile may be visible to users who know your email address or have other identifying information about you. In addition to the purposes explained above, the information you provide will be used in accordance with Google’s applicable privacy policy (http://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/). Google may publish aggregated statistics about users’ + activities or share these statistics with our users and partners, such as publishers, advertisers or affiliated websites.

GOOGLE ANALYTICS

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; ‘Google’). The service is used in ‘Universal Analytics’ mode. This makes it possible to associate data, sessions and interactions across multiple devices with a pseudonymous user ID, thereby enabling the analysis of a user’s activities across devices.

Google Analytics uses so-called ‘cookies’, which are text files stored on your computer that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie regarding your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. By activating IP anonymisation on this website, your IP address will be truncated by Google beforehand within Member States of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not combined with any other data held by Google. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with other services relating to website and internet usage. These purposes also constitute our legitimate interest in data processing. The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is Section 15(3) of the German Telemedia Act (TMG) and Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The data we send, which is linked to cookies, user identifiers (e.g. user ID) or advertising IDs, is automatically deleted after 14 months. Data for which the retention period has expired is automatically deleted once a month.

You can prevent cookies from being stored by adjusting the settings in your browser; however, please note that, in this case, you may not be able to make full use of all the features of this website. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google, as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser add-on. Opt-out cookies prevent the future collection of your data when you visit this website. To prevent data collection by Universal Analytics across different devices, you must carry out the opt-out procedure on all systems you use.
